As a child, you learned specific things that eventually became natural-almost like second nature. This is how we learn and eventually grow into the person we are today. If you didn’t learn Spanish as a child, then you may be wondering if you can actually teach an old dog a new trick and if you will ever acquire the language fluently. While it is true that it is easier to learn a second language as a child, there is no reason to give up before you even begin! Learning Spanish as an adult can be easier than you think, and even quite a bit of fun.
First you will need a teaching method, this can be through a private tutor, class, book, or program whatever works best for you. Once you have the system that you feel you will best be able to learn Spanish with, you need to set aside a certain amount of time every day to work on it.
* Be reasonable in the amount of time you expect to be able to speak the language fluently, this could take several years. Also, set specific study times and stick to them, it’s like going to the gym, it’s hard to get there but once you do your glad you did!
* When you get frustrated, walk away. Come back to it later. Also, once a month meet with a private tutor to help you go over what you have learned. He or she can help you with any questions you have and also make sure you are pronouncing words properly.

There are many ways to teach children how to learn Spanish. It is always a good idea to reinforce at home what they are already more than likely learning in school. School work can be boring in general for them, so if your child is behind in Spanish or just wants to learn as much as possible, it is a great idea to make up fun ways for your child to learn at home. Here are a few fun games you can play with them to teach them the Spanish language!
B.I.N.G.O. isn’t just a game for elders to enjoy. Kids typically love this game because it is just so much fun to scream BINGO! You can make your own bingo sheet and use Spanish numbers and letters. This is a great tool to teach slightly older children how to spell and pronounce the numbers in Spanish or any other new language.
“I spy” is also a great game to play with your child; you can spy things in Spanish colors, numbers, shapes and letters! This can be taught to a child as early as the age of 3 and they will have a blast with it! Make a habit of picking out things that are easy to identify so the game doesn’t become too much work for the kid.
Here are a few more ideas: * Matching games with pictures and colors is a fun game that is great to teach at the age of three, but can be taught to any child who is beginning to speak. You can make your own or there are an abundance of Spanish matching games in the stores! * Learn to sing your child’s favorite songs in Spanish and every night sing them both ways before they go to sleep. Pretty soon they will be singing it with you and you can move on to a new song!
Spanish is an incredibly important language to teach young children these days and it’s always great to get a head start! These games and more will give you the opportunity to teach your child an important language and have fun at the same time!
